Guwahati registered 700 new COVID-19 positive cases on August 31, Monday.On the same day, Assam reported a total of 3,266 new cases.

Out of these, 233 are from Golaghat, 189 are from Cachar, and 189 are from Jorhat.With this, the total number of COVID cases in Assam has gone up to 1,09,040.Further, with 1,531 patients discharged from various hospitals within the last 24 hours, active cases in Assam stands at 23,272 while 85,458 persons have been cured from the virus.

The COVID-19 death toll in Assam stands at 306.
