Guwahati, April 28: Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal condoled the death of eminent economist and educationist Dr. Dilip Kumar Baruah who breathed his last today morning.
In a condolence message, Chief Minister Sonowal stated that the contributions of late Baruah as an academician and economist would always remain memorable in the minds of the people of Assam. Dr. Baruah’s visionary leadership as Principal of Cotton College helped the premier educational institution to scale new height of success and create a better academic environment, Sonowal added.
A thoughtful writer, late Baruah was also credited with creating a quizzing culture in the state. Dr. Baruah also served as a member of the 7th Pay Commission constituted by the Government of Assam. The Chief Minister also expressed his deepest sympathies with the bereaved family.
