Kokrajhar terror attack: Death toll of civilians goes up to 14


The death toll of civilians has gone up to 14 in Friday's Kokrajhar terror attack. One wounded person succumbed to his injuries at Kokrajhar hospital, sources said on Saturday. Sources said that Tijen Hajoari succumbed to his injuries at a hospital in Kokrajhar. One terrorist was gunned down by security forces during the encounter that lasted about 20 minutes.

A terrifying photo of the terror attack in Kokrajhar in Assam on Friday has emerged in which one terrorist, purportedly from the NDFB(S), was seen walking in a crowded street.In the photo, the terrorist was seen wearing a blue colour raincoat. He had a backpack along with an automatic assault rifle.14 civilians were killed and 18 others injured when NDFB(S) terrorists opened fire indiscriminately at public at Balajan Tiniali in Kokrajhar on Friday.

NDFB (S) terrorist shot dead by Army in Kokrajhar attack identified 

The NDFB (S) terrorist shot dead by Army in Kokrajhar attack on Friday has been identified as Mananjay Islary. This was disclosed by Assam Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma in Guwahati on Saturday.Mananjay Islary was the commander of 16 battalion of NDFB (S), Sarma added. Islary hails from no 2 Pakriguri village in Kokrajhar.

Kokrajhar terror attack: CM Sarbananda Sonowal meets injured persons at GMCH

Assam Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal along with health Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Saturday visited Gauhati Medical College and Hospital and met the injured people in Kokrajhar attack.Five seriously injured persons were shifted to GMCH from Kokrajhar on Friday.On Friday, 14 civilians were killed and 18 others injured when NDFB(S) terrorists opened fire indiscriminately at public at Balajan Tiniali in Kokrajhar.

Terror attack: Himanta Biswa Sarma, Pramilarani Brahma visit Kokrajhar


Assam Health Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma and Forest Minister Pramilarani Brahma visited Kokrajhar to assess situation after the terror attack at Balajan Tiliali that left 14 civilians dead. The ministers held a review meeting with senior officials including the DGP. They also visited the hospital where the injured persons are being treated. Some seriously injured persons were shifted to GMCH in Guwahati, source said.

NIA team visits Kokrajhar terror attack site to collect evidence


A team of the National Investigation Agency (NIA) visited the site of the terror attack in Kokrajhar in Assam to collect evidence.Assam Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal has directed Assam Director General of Police Mukesh Sahay to beef up security and launch a vigorous drive to apprehend those behind the heinous crime. Sonowal said his government is committed to ensure the safety of life and property of the people of Assam. All deputy commissioners (DCs) and superintendents of police (SPs) across the state have been directed to be on high alert following the attack and in view of Independence Day.
