Guwahati: At a time when BJP is appointing first time MLA as the Chief Minister of Rajasthan and still holding the party together, the Congress seems to have lost courage even to take action against MLAs who are openly hobnobbing with Himanta Biswa Sarma and his right-hand man Pijush Hazarika. It's an open secret that some Assam Congress MLAs are working for the BJP, passing information to Assam Chief Minister from CLP meetings and voted for the BJP candidate in the presidential election.
In a recent incident, reported in several media outlets, quoting top sources of Assam Congress, two Muslim MLAs have met Himanta Biswa Sarma at Oberoi Hotel in Delhi in the late hour of Tuesday. Our sources from Oberoi hotel say that the two MLAs are Rekibuddin Ahmed and Zakir Hussain Sikder.
A video of Rekibuddin Ahmed, where Himanta Biswa Sarma was asking him not to come to BJP's party meeting went viral earlier. He is often seen cycling with BJP Minister Pijush Hazarika. Both Himanta and Pijush often abuse Rahul Gandhi, but never ever Rekibuddin Ahmed has been seen countering either Himanta Biswa Sarma or Pijush Hazarika.
According to our sources, these two Muslim Congress MLAs took a Spice Jet flight from Guwahati to Delhi at around 6:30PM on Tuesday to meet the assam Chief minister who was stationed in Delhi. Although the details of this “secret” meeting is not known in detail, our sources say that the assam Chief minister wants the help of some Congress MLAs to ensure the defeat of Gaurav Gogoi in the upcoming Lok Sabha election.
Recently, Pijush Hazarika, who is known to be very close to these two Congress MLAs has posted a very derogatory post on Facebook abusing Gaurav Gogoi and Muslim voters of the Nagaon Lok Sabha constituency, from where Gaurav Gogoi is predicted to contest the 2024 Lok Sabha. Surprisingly, not a single Congress leader came in defence of Gaurav Gogoi and the voters of Nagaon.
We spoke to several voters in the Nagaon Lok Sabha constituency, who have expressed their anger against the muted response from Congress leadership, and particularly against the Muslim Congress MLAs. Many of them are angry at the Congress high command for not taking action against the Congress MLAs who are working for the BJP and Himanta Biswa Sarma. If this inaction against the BJP agents in the Congress continues, the Congress party might pay a heavy price in the 2024 Lok Sabha election.
