Tripura: Declared dead, COVID-19 Patient turns out to be alive after doctor checks pulse.

Tripura: 'Declared dead' COVID-19 patient turns out to be alive after doctor son checks pulse.

In a shocking incident reported from the Khowai district in Tripura on Thursday, a man who was declared dead by doctors was found to be alive after his son, who is a doctor, checked his pulse rate. According to reports, Tarun Kumar Nag was declared dead by doctors at the Khowai district hospital. The 52-year-old's family members alleged that the doctors of the Khowai hospital did not even touch the sick man and only looked at him from a distance before declaring him as "dead." The doctors of the Khowai hospital even handed over a death certificate to Nag's grieving family members.

When Trideep Nag, the patient's son, who is an intern at the GBP hospital, reached Khowai to take stock of his father's health, he was told that the man had expired. To his utter astonishment, however, Nag, who entered the hospital wearing a PPE kit, discovered that his father was very much alive! In fact, his father's pulse rate was actually higher than the normal human average. Although the normal human pulse rate is 72, the senior Nag's pulse rate had reached 123-125.

After making this shocking discovery, Nag said that he asked the doctors to refer him, following all the necessary paper works. Soon after, the patient was shifted to the premier health facility in the state capital of Agartala. According to reports, Nag was shifted to the Khowai district hospital after he fell ill on Thursday. A test at the hospital revealed that Nag had been infected by the dreaded coronavirus, following which he was rushed to the isolation ward. There, the doctors declared him dead.

This shocking incident has caused outrage in Tripura's Khowai district, where the locals have condemned the doctors for their alleged negligence. Additionally, the patient's son Trideep Nag has also lashed out at the Khowai district hospital doctors for not extending their help to the ailing man.
