Stargazers around the world, here’s a piece of good news for you. This coming January 20 and 21 will witness trifecta of events which include a total lunar eclipse, Wolf Moon and Super Blood Moon.
Super Blood Wolf Moon Lunar Eclipse is the celestial event when moon, earth and sun line up perfectly in a straight line with earth in the middle. The full moon denotes a total lunar eclipse. Since earth is in the middles, it block sun’s light and the little light that bounces off its edge lit up moon that makes it appear red. To put it in simple words, it is called ‘Blood Moon’ because of the reddish tinge in moon. Further, since moon is closer to earth at time this, it appears larger and brighter! Talking about the term ‘Wolf Moon’, this term was coined by native Americans for a full moon that appears in the middle of winters.

Date and timings
This celestial event starts at 11:41 pm ET (Eastern Time) on January 20, which will be around 10:11 am on January 21 as per Indian Standard Time. The total event would last for about three and a half hours.
The Super Blood Half Moon would be visible in America, Iceland, Greenland, western Europe, and western Africa. People in eastern Africa and eastern Europe would only able to view partial lunar eclipse. However, this phenomenon will not be visible in India, though one can surely view it on NASA’s website.
The next time
The last time lunar eclipse happened on July 27 last year. And when would you get to witness a total lunar eclipse next time? It would be on May 26, 2021.
