NEW DELHI: Olympics silver medallist PV Sindhu, along with her coach Pullela Gopichand, reached India today amid a grand, rousing reception. While the entire country was ecstatic at her performance and applauded the efforts of her coach Gopichand, Telangana's deputy chief minister Mohammad Mahmood Ali thought differently.
In a rather off-hand remark, Mahmood Ali said that they would provide Sindhu with a 'proper coach'. "Sindhu is our daughter and she has made us proud. We are planning to give Sindhu proper coaching so that she can fetch gold next time," deputy CM Mahmood Ali had said.
No sooner than this remark went on air, he raked up a controversy with people from all corners lambasting him for his gaffe. Many fans took to Twitter to 'shut up' the minister and asked him to 'avoid foolish statements'.
