Dengue cases cross 300 mark



Over 300 cases of dengue have been recorded across the Capital so far this year, with 83 new cases having been confirmed in the past week.

According to the weekly report of the municipal corporations released on Monday, Delhi had seen 311 cases of the vector-borne disease till August 20. The report also confirmed two deaths from dengue this year. Of the total number of cases, 162 patients contracted the disease within Delhi, the remaining 149 got the infection from other States but were diagnosed in the Capital.

With 47 confirmed cases, South Delhi Municipal Corporation recorded the maximum number of dengue patients.

The East Delhi Municipal Corporation, the North Delhi Municipal Corporation and the New Delhi Municipal Council recorded 16, 10 and 14 cases, respectively.

Meanwhile, the number of chikungunya cases confirmed by the corporations stood at 20, with seven in South Zone, four each in Central Zone and NDMC areas, two in North Corporation and one each in West Zone, Najafgarh Zone and EDMC.
